Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brenn McCready got the match started through his kick off. Fergal Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brann McOliver in the 3rd minute of play. With his leg Fergal Barrett managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Moate's Kealan Lester fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Bairthmead McGlenn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dromgarriff's supporters rose to their feet, but Bairthmead McGlenn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleary McIan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Brann McOliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 13 minutes into the game, Blian Ghee was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dromgarriff the free kick. Blian Ghee hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Blian Ghee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bairthmead McGlenn in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cleary McIan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moate's Blian Ghee got his second yellow card of the match in the 18th minute. The referee ordered Blian Ghee off the ground. In the 19th minute, Blian Ghee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 played minutes Moate got a freekick which was hit by Rory Byrne. Moate's Cleary McIan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenn McCready in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute Brenn McCready shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleary McIan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brenn McCready struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Cleary McIan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dromgarriff. If Tathan McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 37 minutes of play, Moate's Kealan Lester made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergal Barrett was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Moate's goalkeeper Cleary McIan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kealan Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Kealan Lester made the kick off in the second half. Brenn McCready recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boynton Caffey hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Bairthmead McGlenn took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Cleary McIan to make any attempt to save it. Bairthmead McGlenn's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Cleary McIan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cleary McIan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bairthmead McGlenn in the 69th minute. Boland Molloy hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Kealan Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thom McWillie during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thom McWillie hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Moate players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
