The Moate fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Moate's Brann McOliver looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Brann McOliver struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Gearroid McLian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moate. When Andrew MaCollin fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bawnfune AFC's protests and gave Andrew MaCollin a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Bawnfune AFC got a freekick which was hit by Andrew MaCollin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brann McOliver in the 30th minute of play forced Bawnfune AFC's goalkeeper Gearroid McLian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Bawnfune AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Troy Ferguson to maneuver through the defense. Gearroid McLian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kealan Lester in the 32nd minute of the match. Gearroid McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brann McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Kealan Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kealan Lester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gearroid McLian having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a rather tough play, Moate's Bryan Glen Crowe got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 58th minute, Kealan Lester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Moate booed when Bawnfune AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Ferguson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brann McOliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Kealan Lester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boynton Caffey hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Kealan Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gearroid McLian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gearroid McLian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brann McOliver's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Kealan Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Bawnfune AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Moate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
