Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Beatty McJon kicked off to start the match. Toran Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brann McOliver in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Begley Brennan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilpierce's supporters rose to their feet, but Begley Brennan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleary McIan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Brann McOliver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th match minute, Kilpierce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davie Savic to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Moate's Brann McOliver slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Toran Hughes. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Davie Savic kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. A hard shot by Bivadi Rutherford from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Toran Hughes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Davie Savic fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilpierce's protests and gave Davie Savic a yellow card for diving instead. Toran Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brann McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 45 played minutes Moate got a freekick which was hit by Boynton Caffey. Kilpierce's Toran Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brann McOliver in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brann McOliver to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Kealan Lester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 minutes of play Kilpierce's Davie Savic was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Davie Savic kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Rory Byrne hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brann McOliver in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toran Hughes saved Kilpierce from getting behind. If Kealan Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beatty McJon hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Moate's Bivadi Rutherford couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kilpierce. There was no doubt that Moate were the better team. Moate's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
