The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dillon Brennan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toran Hughes having to make a save. Toran Hughes came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Kilfenora's Séamus Byrne. But to his dismay, Séamus Byrne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dillon Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 minutes, Denny McCollion mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kilfenora and the Kilpierce players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denny McCollion hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. When Séamus Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Kilfenora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Séamus Byrne couldn't finish the play. Davie Savic charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davie Savic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Davie Savic kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Kilfenora's Dillon Brennan in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kilpierce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beatty McJon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Kilpierce's goal looked a bit too open when Séamus Byrne came free, but Toran Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Kilpierce's goal looked a bit too open when Dillon Brennan came free, but Toran Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toran Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dillon Brennan, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dillon Brennan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Kilfenora getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Brite McOliver hit a great ball. Barran Mulvihill charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barran Mulvihill the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 59 played minutes Kilpierce got a freekick which was hit by Barran Mulvihill. Toran Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dillon Brennan in the 59th minute of play. Turlough Colwell charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Turlough Colwell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kilfenora's Turlough Colwell got a free kick in the 60th minute. 63 minutes into the game, Gearroid Willson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilfenora's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kilpierce the free kick. The supporters of Kilpierce booed when Kilfenora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gearroid Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Beatty McJon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilpierce's supporters rose to their feet, but Beatty McJon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Colm Beckett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dillon Brennan might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toran Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dillon Brennan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th minute, Davie Savic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kilpierce fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Kilfenora's Colm Beckett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beatty McJon in the 81st minute of play. In the 81st minute, Brite McOliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Kilfenora's goal looked a bit too open when Begley Brennan came free, but Colm Beckett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Séamus Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toran Hughes didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 89th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
