Joseph McLian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monroe. 16 minutes into the game, Berkeley McBjarton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lismore FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monroe the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lismore FC's Berrigan McVictor got a free kick in the 20th minute. Pat McPhil didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shea McFrancise in the 34th minute of play forced Lismore FC's goalkeeper Joseph McLian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lismore FC's Joseph McLian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cashel Willson in the 37th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doney Taylor to make the kick off. Joseph McLian came out and tried to block the shot, but Shea McFrancise slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 72nd minute. Cashel Willson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joseph McLian having to make a save. Berkeley McBjarton hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Joseph McLian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shea McFrancise in the 95th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Lismore FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cashel Willson came free, but Joseph McLian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Monroe's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
