Doney Taylor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Fergal Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dromgarriff's Fergal Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doney Taylor in the 15th minute of play. If Brenn McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Dromgarriff defense, Doney Taylor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fergal Barrett. The Dromgarriff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fergal Barrett should have stopped the shot. Lismore FC's Joseph McLian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Lismore FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Lismore FC's zone, Brenn McCready stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph McLian came out of the goal and Brenn McCready tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dromgarriff's Bairthmead McGlenn in 31 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Joseph McLian guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Bairthmead McGlenn in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joseph McLian, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 35 minutes into the match, Lismore FC's goalkeeper Joseph McLian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bairthmead McGlenn. In the 39th match minute, Lismore FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taveon McJohn to maneuver through the defense. Birr Silke charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Birr Silke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st minute, Birr Silke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doney Taylor was the one to do the kick off. Lismore FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Benedict McCollion in the 55th minute. Fergal Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berrigan McVictor, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Doney Taylor kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Joseph McLian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenn McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brenn McCready, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Dromgarriff's Fergal Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doney Taylor in the 71st minute of play. Joseph McLian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenn McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doney Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergal Barrett having to interfere. In the 87thth minute of the game Brenn McCready who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lismore FC's Joseph McLian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute Bairthmead McGlenn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph McLian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doney Taylor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joseph McLian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bairthmead McGlenn's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. If Doney Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lismore FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
