Andrew MaCollin's late challenge caught a Monroe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrew MaCollin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Monroe booed when Bawnfune AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew MaCollin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Shea McFrancise reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gearroid McLian. The goal made the score 1-0. With a little luck, Bawnfune AFC's Gearroid McLian got control of the ball when Cashel Willson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Shea McFrancise's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gearroid McLian was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Shea McFrancise made the kick off in the second half. Gearroid McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cashel Willson, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Cashel Willson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Bawnfune AFC defense, Shea McFrancise kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gearroid McLian. The Bawnfune AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gearroid McLian should have stopped the shot. Gearroid McLian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shea McFrancise in the 78th minute of the match. If Riddock Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Monroe's Shea McFrancise sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gearroid McLian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Monroe's Turlough Rutherford got a free kick in the 96th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Monroe fully deserved thier win.
