Pierce O'Down made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brann McOliver in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brann McOliver in the 8th minute of play forced Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper Pierce O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gearóid MaCollin during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Gearóid MaCollin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brann McOliver in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierce O'Down prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pierce O'Down made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brann McOliver in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kealan Lester in the 23rd minute of play forced Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper Pierce O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierce O'Down showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blian Ghee, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Pierce O'Down came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Moate's Blian Ghee. But to his dismay, Blian Ghee quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Brann McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pierce O'Down tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kealan Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th match minute, Cloghglass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Troy Todd to maneuver through the defense. Pierce O'Down showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brann McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Brann McOliver made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kealan Lester in the 51st minute of play forced Cloghglass FC's goalkeeper Pierce O'Down to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierce O'Down showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brann McOliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 53 played minutes Cloghglass FC got a freekick which was hit by Troy Todd. Kealan Lesters short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Pierce O'Down to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brann McOliver in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierce O'Down prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Kealan Lester came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Moate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kealan Lester couldn't finish the play. Pierce O'Down stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brann McOliver's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After some careless play in the Cloghglass FC defense, Kealan Lester kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pierce O'Down. The Cloghglass FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pierce O'Down should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Brann McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moate's supporters rose to their feet, but Brann McOliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierce O'Down breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Kealan Lester kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pierce O'Down. That made the score 0-3 in the 93 minute of play. The Cloghglass FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Moate's performance. The match ended with a win for Moate.
