Taveon McJohn kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lismore FC's zone, Bairthmead McGlenn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph McLian came out of the goal and Bairthmead McGlenn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joseph McLian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bairthmead McGlenn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seoirse Savic hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Brenn McCready got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brenn McCready took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joseph McLian. Joseph McLian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Bairthmead McGlenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph McLian having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Seoirse Savic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Brenn McCready shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph McLian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph McLian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenn McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brenn McCready, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doney Taylor made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Russ Cooney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lismore FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dromgarriff the free kick. 51 minutes into the game, one of Lismore FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With his leg Joseph McLian managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Dromgarriff's Bairthmead McGlenn fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Brenn McCready fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph McLian having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Bairthmead McGlenn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bairthmead McGlenn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Joseph McLian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph McLian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brenn McCready, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Brenn McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fergal Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doney Taylor in the 76th minute of play. Lismore FC's Joseph McLian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Lismore FC from getting a goal against them. Lismore FC's Joseph McLian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenn McCready in the 83rd minute of play. Doney Taylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergal Barrett having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Dromgarriff left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lismore FC.
