Breslin Brennan's late challenge caught a Furnace FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frevanagh FC's Baydan McPaul managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salmon John in the 41 minute of the game. The supporters of Furnace FC booed when Frevanagh FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baydan McPaul didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ultan Beckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Ghee having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Ultan Beckett got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

Ultan Beckett came free in the 65th minute and tried to tip the ball over Tomás Ghee , but to the joy of Furnace FC's supporters the ball went over. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Branigan McIan took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Mack Jameson to make any attempt to save it. After 74 minutes, Philib Gough mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frevanagh FC and the Furnace FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 75 played minutes Frevanagh FC got a freekick which was hit by Philib Gough. Ultan Beckett struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Tomás Ghee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frevanagh FC. 80 minutes into the match, Frevanagh FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beehan Crowe came free, but Mack Jameson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn McNamara in the 95th minute of play forced Frevanagh FC's goalkeeper Mack Jameson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Furnace FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
