Booak Lavine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burke McBjarton, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Burke McBjarton's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Booak Lavine skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Booak Lavine made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Blathma Molloy sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Leenane AFC's zone, Burke McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Booak Lavine came out of the goal and Burke McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Blathma Molloy came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Carrowcastle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blathma Molloy couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philib McPaul during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Carrowcastle getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Philib McPaul hit a great ball. Theodore Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Theodore Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Bearnad McDecland made the kick off in the second half. Carrowcastle's Bodibeve Cronin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bearnad McDecland in the 53rd minute of play. Philib McPaul was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 57 played minutes Carrowcastle got a freekick which was hit by Philib McPaul.
