In the 5th minute of the match Brede McJames sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bel McAaron skillfully saved the ball. Keelin Dimson was shown his second yellow card after 6 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 8th minute, Oliver Cassin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bel McAaron was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Fionn Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute Fionn Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bel McAaron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oliver Cassin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Licketstown's goal looked a bit too open when Fionn Lester came free, but Bel McAaron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bel McAaron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Cassin in the 31st minute of play forced Licketstown's goalkeeper Bel McAaron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Berrin Ghee kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Bel McAaron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Cassin in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bel McAaron prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Oliver Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Killina's Oliver Cassin got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Fionn Lester notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Licketstown's Bel McAaron. Bel McAaron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Fionn Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Bel McAaron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Licketstown got a freekick which was hit by Berrin Ghee . After a rather tough play, Killina's Jarlath Morrison got a free kick in the 58th minute. Licketstown's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Fionn Lester scored to the left of an out of position Bel McAaron, making the score, 0-3. When Rowley Hutton came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Licketstown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rowley Hutton couldn't finish the play. Licketstown's Bel McAaron proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Licketstown from getting a goal against them. Fionn Lester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bel McAaron having to interfere. If Fionn Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Killina booed when Licketstown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Coran Savic didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Killina's Fionn Lester in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Licketstown's goalie prevented a goal. After 78 played minutes Licketstown got a freekick which was hit by Kevion Caffrey. Brede McJames might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bel McAaron. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brede McJames ran back to his position shaking his head. Louie Crowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Logan Gollogley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bel McAaron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fionn Lester in the 99th minute of play. Killina's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
