Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bell Hughes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Denny Dempsey kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th minute Ryan Hughes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brak Grant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Barnalisheen's Rowan Gallagher got control of the ball when Kevin McAaron tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Cassin in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brak Grant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, Barnalisheen's Bhrighde McOliver broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bell Hughes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rowan Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Barnalisheen got a freekick which was hit by Seán Beckett. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barnalisheen's goalkeeper Rowan Gallagher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Moone got a freekick which was hit by Dillon Matthews. The Barnalisheen fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Barnalisheen's Patrick Cassin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Brak Grant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Cassin in the 28th minute of play. Ryan Hughes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brak Grant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Moone got a freekick which was hit by Baiscend Deans. Brak Grant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Patrick Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Barnalisheen's Rowan Gallagher got control of the ball when Kevin McAaron tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ryan Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryan Hughes made a kick off. The supporters of Barnalisheen booed when Moone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glenn McAaron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bell Hughes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rowan Gallagher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Cáirbre Lavine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bell Hughes struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rowan Gallagher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moone. The supporters of Moone booed when Barnalisheen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Crowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eoghan Tracy fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barnalisheen's protests and gave Eoghan Tracy a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Moone booed when Barnalisheen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eoghan Tracy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th match minute, Moone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bell Hughes to maneuver through the defense. Rowan Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bell Hughes in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th match minute, Moone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinny Molloy to maneuver through the defense. Barnalisheen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
