Ron Quinnless kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Rylie Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Lavey AFC's Keeghan McTommy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tormaigh Benson in the 39th minute of play. Coileán Myler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Begley Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Tormaigh Benson made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Lavey AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Cormac Sheridan hit a great ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Tormaigh Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kilbraney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tormaigh Benson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lavey AFC's Dermot Deans got a free kick in the 55th minute. Tormaigh Benson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keeghan McTommy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rylie Johnson in the 69th minute of play. When Bercnan McJohn fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavey AFC's protests and gave Bercnan McJohn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Bercnan McJohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rylie Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Keeghan McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rylie Johnson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keeghan McTommy having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tormaigh Benson in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keeghan McTommy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kilbraney's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Cleary McNamee scored to the left of an out of position Coileán Myler, making the score, 0-2. Tormaigh Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Keeghan McTommy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rylie Johnson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keeghan McTommy having to make a save. If Bartel McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lavey AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Kilbraney's much stronger midfield.
