With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Costello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cootehall's Donncha McPaul in 19 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Bivadas McLian guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 24th minute, Brian McGlenn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuel Costello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian McGlenn in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuel Costello saved Cootehall from getting behind. Samuel Costello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beary Cronin went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Bivadas McLian was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Barde O'Neill showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 31 minute of play. A collision led to Cootehall getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Eamonn Holt hit a great ball. Beary Cronin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Samuel Costello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brian McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Cootehall's goal looked a bit too open when Beary Cronin came free, but Samuel Costello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Beary Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barde O'Neill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bivadas McLian having to interfere. The Cootehall players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Burnfort were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beary Cronin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Burnfort booed when Cootehall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eamonn Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shey McWill hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Bivadas McLian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donncha McPaul went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Donncha McPaul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bivadas McLian having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Burnfort got a freekick which was hit by Blar Gough. In the 73rd minute, Beary Cronin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute, Donavon McOliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Burnfort's Beary Cronin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Beary Cronin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Costello having to interfere. Bivadas McLian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donncha McPaul in the 84th minute of the match. Eamonn Holt hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Burnfort's Scot Byrne broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Samuel Costello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brian McGlenn in the 94th minute. When the match was over Burnfort could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cootehall throughout the match.
