Donncha McPaul recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barde O'Neill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Barran McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ballyfarnan Utd's Breenan Keegan got a free kick in the 46th minute. 49 minutes into the game, Baird McSteve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballyfarnan Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cootehall the free kick. The wind increased when Oliver McJon made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cootehall's zone, Oliver McJon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Costello came out of the goal and Oliver McJon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donncha McPaul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Cootehall defense, Oliver McJon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Costello. The Cootehall fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Costello should have stopped the shot. When Quaid Frankson fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyfarnan Utd's protests and gave Quaid Frankson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Ballyfarnan Utd's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Barde O'Neill fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Donavon McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Barran McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barran McSteven made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Barde O'Neill sent off a good shot on target. Barran McSteven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donncha McPaul, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
