Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Oliver McJon took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes Derry FC got a freekick which was hit by Shey McPhilip. In the 4th minute of the match Reilley McSteven shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bannon Doyle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Barran McSteven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nolyn Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, Breenan Keegan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thurl Doyle kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Darrin Branson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Barran McSteven having to make a save. Barran McSteven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nolyn Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Breccan Ramsey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barran McSteven. Ballyfarnan Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Breccan Ramsey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Barran McSteven came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Derry FC's Breccan Ramsey. But to his dismay, Breccan Ramsey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thurl Doyle during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Derry FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Thurl Doyle hit a great ball. Barran McSteven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tirloch Beckett in the 37th minute. Ballyfarnan Utd's Barran McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Caffey in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Derry FC's goalkeeper Bannon Doyle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Derry FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver McJon came free, but Bannon Doyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Ballyfarnan Utd's goalkeeper Barran McSteven had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nolyn Todd. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darrin Branson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Barran McSteven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darrin Branson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barran McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breccan Ramsey in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Tirloch Beckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barran McSteven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Ballyfarnan Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Breccan Ramsey came free, but Barran McSteven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Derry FC's Darrin Branson in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ballyfarnan Utd's goalie prevented a goal. Derry FC's Tirloch Beckett got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 61 minutes of play, Derry FC's Shey McPhilip made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barran McSteven was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 66th minute, Heremon McLiam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barran McSteven was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 70th minute, Breccan Ramsey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barran McSteven was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. The supporters of Derry FC booed when Ballyfarnan Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breenan Keegan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 minutes of play, Derry FC's Tirloch Beckett made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barran McSteven was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Thurl Doyle in the 85th minute of play forced Ballyfarnan Utd's goalkeeper Barran McSteven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barran McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breccan Ramsey in the 89th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Heremon McLiam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derry FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Heremon McLiam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barran McSteven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 minutes, Darrin Branson made it 8-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ballyfarnan Utd's Barran McSteven tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
