Glenn Deans showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Justin Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Glenn Deans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loughbeg and the Coolbaun AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35thth minute of the game Riley Caffey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coolbaun AFC's Berkley Lavine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 37 played minutes, Coolbaun AFC's Gearalt Johnson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Keely McBrandon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coolbaun AFC reached it. After having played for 38 minutes, Justin Dalton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loughbeg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justin Dalton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bret McNamee in the 40th minute of play forced Loughbeg's goalkeeper Keely McBrandon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Loughbeg's Glenn Deans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Berkley Lavine. That made the score 2-0 after 45 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 76 played minutes Loughbeg got a freekick which was hit by Kieran Deery. 77 minutes into the match, Loughbeg's goalkeeper Keely McBrandon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory Coyle. 87 minutes into the match, Coolbaun AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn Deans came free, but Berkley Lavine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
