The referee showed Timothy Mullan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darrin Branson in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kerrigan McPeter saved Nicker from getting behind. In the 8th minute, Darrin Branson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kerrigan McPeter was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The supporters of Derry FC booed when Nicker was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás McWillie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicker's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Derry FC the free kick. A collision led to Nicker getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Quirk McLian hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Derry FC's Darrin Branson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kerrigan McPeter. That made the score 2-0 after 16 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Derry FC's Jarlath Holt got a free kick in the 18th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Nicker's goal looked a bit too open when Shey McPhilip came free, but Kerrigan McPeter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derry FC's Darrin Branson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 29th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Nicker booed when Derry FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tirloch Beckett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lochlainn Cronin kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darrin Branson in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kerrigan McPeter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Quirk McLian got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Derry FC's Biviti McPhil was substituted for Jarlath Holt. After 43 played minutes Nicker got a freekick which was hit by Quirk McLian. Breccan Ramsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Breccan Ramsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerrigan McPeter having to interfere. Breccan Ramsey struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Kerrigan McPeter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derry FC. 56 minutes into the match, Nicker's goal looked a bit too open when Darrin Branson came free, but Kerrigan McPeter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Derry FC's Thurl Doyle got a free kick in the 64th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Comhghall Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nicker's supporters rose to their feet, but Comhghall Kelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bannon Doyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 67 minutes into the game, Derry FC's Darrin Branson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kerrigan McPeter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After 75th play minutes Darrin Branson shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Kerrigan McPeter and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 84th minute, Tirloch Beckett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kerrigan McPeter was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Nicker's Kerrigan McPeter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darrin Branson in the 88th minute of play. After 92 minutes of play, Derry FC's Tirloch Beckett made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kerrigan McPeter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kerrigan McPeter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tirloch Beckett in the 95th minute of the match. With a little luck, Derry FC's Bannon Doyle got control of the ball when Comhghall Kelly tried to sneak it across the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Derry FC had played much better football throughout.
