After having played for 20 minutes, Rory Coyle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coolbaun AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rory Coyle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Brian McGlenn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berkley Lavine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Coolbaun AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold McCollion to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Coolbaun AFC's zone, Beary Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berkley Lavine came out of the goal and Beary Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 played minutes Coolbaun AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donahue McCready. If Brian McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bret McNamee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Berkley Lavine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beary Cronin in the 57th minute of the match. Beary Cronin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 58th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Berkley Lavine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beary Cronin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Brian McGlenn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Berkley Lavine, 0-2. Coolbaun AFC's Berkley Lavine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Coolbaun AFC from getting a goal against them. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Berkley Lavine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beary Cronin in the 92nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Coolbaun AFC's zone, Beary Cronin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berkley Lavine came out of the goal and Beary Cronin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brian McGlenn during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 96 played minutes Burnfort got a freekick which was hit by Brian McGlenn. Burnfort played a much better game than Coolbaun AFC and deserved their victory. The Coolbaun AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
