Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boethis Dimson started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Cottian's goal looked a bit too open when Boethis Dimson came free, but Rowland Moran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cottian's Rowland Moran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boethis Dimson in the 6th minute of play. Basil Willson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Rowland Moran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute Boethis Dimson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rowland Moran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Basil Willson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Randal Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, one of Cottian:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cottian. Reagan Jameson shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Boethis Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basil Willson scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rowland Moran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute, Basil Willson made a precise shot to the right of Rowland Moran. Cottian's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ryon John hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Briain Murphy was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Boethis Dimson kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Gilbert McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dillon McAlphie having to interfere. Gilbert McGlynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dillon McAlphie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Cottian players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Barnycarroll were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdia Prunty to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Barnycarroll's Basil Willson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rowland Moran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Barnycarroll getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Danann Callaghan hit a great ball. Rowland Moran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boethis Dimson in the 62nd minute of the match. Fionntán Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowland Moran having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Cottian was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randal Moran to maneuver through the defense. Conn Deans's late challenge caught a Cottian's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conn Deans helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th match minute, Barnycarroll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conn Deans to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basil Willson got free with Rowland Moran in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute, Barnycarroll's Boethis Dimson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Basil Willson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowland Moran having to interfere. Cottian's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Boethis Dimson scored to the left of an out of position Rowland Moran, making the score, 0-4. Boethis Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rowland Moran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Carrig McSteven left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barnycarroll fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Gilbert McGlynn struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Dillon McAlphie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cottian. In the 90th minute, Ferdia Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Cottian fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barnycarroll were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
