Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bresal Ferguson started the match with the kick off. Cornabrogue's Baine Cooney got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bresal Ferguson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boethis Cooney having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Rahans FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Hutton. With his leg Boethis Cooney managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Cornabrogue's Baine Cooney fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Boethis Cooney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bresal Ferguson in the 25th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baolach Horgan during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Rahans FC got a freekick which was hit by Baolach Horgan. In the 27th minute, Kevinn Gillmour sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rahans FC's Boethis Cooney didn't even have to move. 30 minutes into the match, Cornabrogue's goal looked a bit too open when Beiti Glen Crowe came free, but Tobin Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Cornabrogue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tormaigh Beckett to maneuver through the defense. Baine Cooney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 48 minutes, Rollan Brennan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cornabrogue and the Rahans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cornabrogue's Rollan Brennan got a free kick in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Beiti Glen Crowe made the kick off in the second half. Beiti Glen Crowe might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tobin Caffrey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Beiti Glen Crowe ran back to his position shaking his head. Bil Duggan charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bil Duggan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 60 minutes into the match, Rahans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baine Cooney came free, but Boethis Cooney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, one of Cornabrogue:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cornabrogue. Tormaigh Beckett struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Boethis Cooney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cornabrogue. Ryan McOliver struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Tobin Caffrey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rahans FC. If Ryan McOliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rahans FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rahans FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
