The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hewney Palmer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bardon Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Torna Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brannon McLaughlin in the 16th minute of play forced Carrigart FC's goalkeeper Brenden Cronin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tullagh's Brant Bayes got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brenden Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brannon McLaughlin in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Carrigart FC booed when Tullagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bourns McPeter didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jeremiah McLian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brannon McLaughlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Brenden Cronin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Brannon McLaughlin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brenden Cronin. Carrigart FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brannon McLaughlin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Torna Doyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenden Cronin having to interfere. Colmcille McPhil's late challenge caught a Carrigart FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Colmcille McPhil helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, Tullagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colmcille McPhil to maneuver through the defense. Darragh Ramsey kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Carrigart FC's Jeremiah McLian got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes in the game, Brannon McLaughlin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Brenden Cronin having to interfere. A hard shot 57 in the game by Torna Doyle from a close distance when the talented Brenden Cronin managed to make a qualified save. Carrigart FC's players were relieved. 60 minutes into the match, Carrigart FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brannon McLaughlin came free, but Brenden Cronin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Torna Doyle notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Carrigart FC's Brenden Cronin. Brenden Cronin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Torna Doyle took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brenden Cronin. Brenden Cronin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Hewney Palmer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bardon Rogers in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Torna Doyle made a precise shot to the right of Brenden Cronin. Carrigart FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torna Doyle got free with Brenden Cronin in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bardon Rogers in the 82nd minute of play forced Tullagh's goalkeeper Hewney Palmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torna Doyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Brenden Cronin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartel Ryan hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Gehan Martyn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Bannan Byrne sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carrigart FC's Brenden Cronin didn't even have to move. In the 93rd minute Jeremiah McLian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hewney Palmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremiah McLian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Hewney Palmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tullagh had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
