The audience was convinced that Beara Moran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boethis Cooney was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The referee ignored Derrymullan's protests and gave Raonall Palmer a yellow card for diving instead. Raonall Palmer hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Ryan McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rahans FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryan McOliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herich McNamara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Becc McLian kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 11 minutes, Ryan McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rahans FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan McOliver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15thth minute of the game Beara Moran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rahans FC's Boethis Cooney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Dawayne Byrne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boethis Cooney was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Boethis Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dawayne Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31st play minutes Dawayne Byrne shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Boethis Cooney and just under the crossbar into goal. Ryan McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herich McNamara having to interfere. Beara Moran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Boethis Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beara Moran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Dawayne Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dawayne Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Beara Moran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boethis Cooney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dawayne Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dawayne Byrne scored 0-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boethis Cooney, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute, Beara Moran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Ryan McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rahans FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan McOliver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Rahans FC booed when Derrymullan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Murphy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raonall Palmer got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 77th match minute, Derrymullan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raonall Palmer to maneuver through the defense. Cashel McCready, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Boethis Cooney made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Dawayne Byrne sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dawayne Byrne got free with Boethis Cooney in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Boethis Cooney managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Derrymullan's Dawayne Byrne fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ryan McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herich McNamara having to interfere. Derrymullan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
