The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denny Deans helped the player get up and apologised. Bradaigh Gollogley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Hayes Sheridan made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ballylusk's zone, Reilley Hutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patton McCollion came out of the goal and Reilley Hutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Baoithin McJohnny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Reilley Hutton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barnadarrig's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballylusk the free kick. Rourke Mulvihill took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hayes Sheridan. Barnadarrig's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hayes Sheridan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braeden Ghee in the 25th minute of the match. Reilley Hutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Patton McCollion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ballylusk's Patton McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baoithin McJohnny in the 28th minute of play. Patton McCollion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baoithin McJohnny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Donn Gough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barnadarrig's Shea McFrancise got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Ballylusk's goal looked a bit too open when Shea McFrancise came free, but Patton McCollion reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnadarrig's Hayes Sheridan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braeden Ghee in the 41st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Shea McFrancise's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patton McCollion was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Baoithin McJohnny put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Patton McCollion. Barnadarrig's Donn Gough got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ballylusk's Patton McCollion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Ballylusk from getting a goal against them. The referee ignored Ballylusk's protests and gave Rourke Mulvihill a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th minute, one of Ballylusk:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ballylusk. In the 76th minute, Bearnad McTom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes Ballylusk got a freekick which was hit by Paud Tierney. In the 82nd minute, Bera McJohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Barnadarrig getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Daniel Rogers hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Ballylusk's Paud Tierney seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paud Tierney the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ballylusk protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paud Tierney had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 88 minutes into the game, one of Ballylusk:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Patton McCollion went to the wrong direction when Donn Gough was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baoithin McJohnny got free with Patton McCollion in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ballylusk booed when Barnadarrig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shea McFrancise didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barnadarrig's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
