Quinalahy's Benen Johnson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harvey McDecland in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Quinalahy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flann McAlphie to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gweedore's Harvey McDecland got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raymond Coyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benen Johnson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harvey McDecland in the 82nd minute of the match. Benen Johnson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raymond Coyle went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gweedore had played much better football throughout.
