In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Northgrove FC's goalkeeper Pearse Mullan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 6 minutes in the game, Barhan Rogers dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Barhan Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 14th minute when Brogan Molloy elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Carson McWill might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bret McAaron. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carson McWill ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute, Barhan Rogers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bellafarney Utd's zone, Barhan Rogers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bret McAaron came out of the goal and Barhan Rogers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bret McAaron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barhan Rogers in the 27th minute of the match. Bret McAaron didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barhan Rogers went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Brogan Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Northgrove FC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Northgrove FC's Barhan Rogers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 43 minutes into the match, Carson McWill notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Bellafarney Utd's Bret McAaron. Bret McAaron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 48thth minute of the game Carson McWill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bellafarney Utd's Bret McAaron was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Northgrove FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Carson McWill made the kick off in the second half. Northgrove FC's Carson McWill collided with an opponent after 53 minutes. The hit was so violent that he fractured his nose and had to leave the field. When Cathal Dillon fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bellafarney Utd's protests and gave Cathal Dillon a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Bellafarney Utd got a freekick which was hit by Cathal Dillon. After 56 minutes, Teddy Jameson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bellafarney Utd and the Northgrove FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teddy Jameson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Northgrove FC's Ferdia McFrank got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gordan Perth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bret McAaron didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordan Perth went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Northgrove FC's zone, Brakawn Duggan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pearse Mullan came out of the goal and Brakawn Duggan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brakawn Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Barhan Rogers took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Bret McAaron to make any attempt to save it. Ferdia McFrank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bret McAaron having to interfere. The supporters of Northgrove FC booed when Bellafarney Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donavan Mulvihill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gordan Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Bret McAaron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bret McAaron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordan Perth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brakawn Duggan kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Northgrove FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
