After having played for 20 minutes, Donegal Holt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calliagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donegal Holt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 played minutes Bellafarney Utd got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Bayes. Donegal Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bret McAaron having to interfere. Calliagh's Brefni Johnson suffered a sore knee after 25 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Irwin O'Brien fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bellafarney Utd's protests and gave Irwin O'Brien a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bellafarney Utd getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Irwin O'Brien hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Donegal Holt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bret McAaron made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Donegal Holt sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Bellafarney Utd's goalkeeper Bret McAaron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donegal Holt. 36 minutes into the game, Keelin McWillie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calliagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bellafarney Utd the free kick. Keelin McWillie hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Brak Cooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brogan Molloy, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Bellafarney Utd's Bret McAaron got control of the ball when Donegal Holt tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Brakawn Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brogan Molloy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Ennis Ryan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donegal Holt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calliagh's Donegal Holt got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bellafarney Utd's Brakawn Duggan got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 67 minutes, Blar McLian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calliagh and the Bellafarney Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Calliagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blar McLian to maneuver through the defense. Brak Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brogan Molloy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Bellafarney Utd's zone, Donegal Holt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bret McAaron came out of the goal and Donegal Holt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the game, Breed Kirby was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bellafarney Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calliagh the free kick. In the 74th minute, Breed Kirby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Bellafarney Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Blar McLian came free, but Bret McAaron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Calliagh's goal looked a bit too open when Brogan Molloy came free, but Brak Cooney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Brogan Molloy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Brak Cooney. That made the score 1-1 in the 81 minute of play. A collision led to Bellafarney Utd getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Donavan Mulvihill hit a great ball.
