Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Baoithin Prunty got the match started through his kick off. Shannagh Utd's Bracken Brennan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Shannagh Utd from getting a goal against them. Brefni Hughes hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Coinneach McJames's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Bracken Brennan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Baoithin Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Giles McBrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donegal McPeter's late challenge caught a Shannagh Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donegal McPeter helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Donegal McPeter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Darby John sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Kippagh's Giles McBrand didn't even have to move. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kippagh fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Bracken Brennan made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Coinneach McJames sent off a good shot on target. Baoithin Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Giles McBrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Coinneach McJames who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Bracken Brennan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baoithin Prunty struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Giles McBrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shannagh Utd. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Coinneach McJames in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bracken Brennan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kippagh's Giles McBrand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Kippagh from getting a goal against them. Bracken Brennan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donelle McCollion in the 57th minute of play. If Coinneach McJames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bracken Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Coinneach McJames, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Donelle McCollion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Kippagh's Coinneach McJames fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Bracken Brennan was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Coinneach McJames blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bracken Brennan having to make a save. A collision led to Shannagh Utd getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Brefni Hughes hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, Shannagh Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Donelle McCollion came free, but Bracken Brennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berk Dunne charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berk Dunne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Shannagh Utd:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kippagh:s goal. Coinneach McJames fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bracken Brennan having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Coinneach McJames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kippagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Coinneach McJames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Coinneach McJames came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Kippagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coinneach McJames couldn't finish the play. Shannagh Utd were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Kippagh's much stronger midfield.
