Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Baoithin Prunty took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Knockgaffon's goal looked a bit too open when Brant Silke came free, but Bairrionn Holt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute, Baoithin Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfred McWill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brant Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bairrionn Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shannagh Utd's Baoithin Prunty got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kennedy McStephen kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Shannagh Utd's zone, Scothine Mullan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bracken Brennan came out of the goal and Scothine Mullan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brefni Hughes's late challenge caught a Knockgaffon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brefni Hughes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Knockgaffon booed when Shannagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brefni Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scothine Mullan came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bracken Brennan could save by the left post. In the 28th minute, Alfred McWill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Brant Silke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute of the match Kevinn Keegan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bracken Brennan skillfully saved the ball. Scothine Mullan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Bracken Brennan made a huge save. 40 minutes into the match, Shannagh Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred McWill came free, but Bracken Brennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Shannagh Utd getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Harry Hunt hit a great ball. Scothine Mullan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. It was a penalty for Knockgaffon! Darby John shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Brenden McDecland kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Shannagh Utd's Baoithin Prunty got a free kick in the 67th minute. Alfred McWill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Bracken Brennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brant Silke in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bairrionn Holt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bracken Brennan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred McWill in the 79th minute of play. When Knockgaffon's Alfred McWill in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Brant Silke came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Shannagh Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brant Silke couldn't finish the play. Knockgaffon were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Shannagh Utd for a fine match.
