Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Boethis Keegan took the kick off in the first half of the match. Bairrionn Holt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boethis Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Knockgaffon's Bairrionn Holt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boethis Keegan in the 8th minute of play. After 8 minutes of play, Glengesh's Boethis Keegan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bairrionn Holt was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Scothine Mullan came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Knockgaffon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Scothine Mullan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Glengesh getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Berach Harkin hit a great ball. Gehan McNamara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred McWill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Glengesh's zone, Alfred McWill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gehan McNamara came out of the goal and Alfred McWill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Scothine Mullan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Boethis Keegan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Glengesh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 33rd minute, Scothine Mullan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Scothine Mullan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Gehan McNamara made a huge save. Gehan McNamara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred McWill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boethis Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Scothine Mullan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Gehan McNamara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 47thth minute of the game Alfred McWill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glengesh's Gehan McNamara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Glengesh's Gehan McNamara got control of the ball when Scothine Mullan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfred McWill to make the kick off. Tevis McCready struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Bairrionn Holt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glengesh. 57 minutes into the match, Knockgaffon's Scothine Mullan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gehan McNamara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 62 minutes, Brenden McDecland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knockgaffon and the Glengesh players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Knockgaffon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brenden McDecland to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the match, Tevis McCready notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Knockgaffon's Bairrionn Holt. Bairrionn Holt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Tevis McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Tevis McCready got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Samuel Savic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Knockgaffon's Bairrionn Holt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Knockgaffon from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tevis McCready got free with Bairrionn Holt in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tevis McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 played minutes Knockgaffon got a freekick which was hit by Kennedy McStephen. Glengesh's Boethis Keegan managed to work through Knockgaffon's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Boethis Keegan dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When Tevis McCready came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Glengesh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tevis McCready couldn't finish the play. Bairrionn Holt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boethis Keegan's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Tevis McCready sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Knockgaffon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Glengesh's performance. The match ended with a win for Glengesh.
