Bearnard Holt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilnabooley. Rannal McGlenn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Bearnard Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Rannal McGlenn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilnabooley's supporters rose to their feet, but Rannal McGlenn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bearnard Holt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rannal McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rannal McGlenn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kilnabooley's Berry Quinnless played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babe McTom in the 24th minute of play. Cian McWillie charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 39th minute Bevan Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berry Quinnless saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berry Quinnless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bevan Kirby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Berry Quinnless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babe McTom in the 42nd minute of play. Bevan Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. The wind increased when Bevan Kirby made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Ballybane were awarded a corner. Lewis Cassin went to the cornerflag to take it. At last the ball reached Jonathan Molloy at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Kilnabooley. 0-1. The referee ignored Ballybane's protests and gave Barra McGlynn a yellow card for diving instead. Barra McGlynn kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Bevan Kirby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ballybane getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Barra McGlynn hit a great ball. When Bevan Kirby fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballybane's protests and gave Bevan Kirby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, Bevan Kirby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rannal McGlenn in the 80th minute of play forced Ballybane's goalkeeper Bearnard Holt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ballybane's Bevan Kirby got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Ballybane's goal looked a bit too open when Rannal McGlenn came free, but Bearnard Holt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Kilnabooley's Herygh Willson got a free kick in the 85th minute. With his leg Berry Quinnless managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Ballybane's Babe McTom fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match was over Ballybane could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kilnabooley throughout the match.
