Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tipraite Mullan started the match with the kick off. If Tipraite Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pearson McAlphie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bard Mullan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Burke McCready mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gattabaun and the Cashleen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gattabaun's Burke McCready got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 27th minute Tipraite Mullan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bard Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cashleen's Bradley Harkin pulled a muscle in his leg after 28 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Cashleen made a substitution. Healey Dalton replaced Bradley Harkin. In the 29th match minute, Gattabaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis McWill to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Babe Kelly dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Boynton Savic, 1-1. Pearson McAlphie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Bard Mullan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Cashleen's goalkeeper Boynton Savic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donan McTom. Donan McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Boynton Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gattabaun's Bard Mullan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pearson McAlphie in the 42nd minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Boynton Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Babe Kelly in the 51st minute of the match. Boynton Savic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donan McTom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baodan Caffey charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baodan Caffey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Babe Kelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 58 minutes, Tipraite Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cashleen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tipraite Mullan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boynton Savic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donan McTom in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66thth minute of the game Tipraite Mullan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gattabaun's Bard Mullan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Shamus McDonald came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Cashleen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shamus McDonald couldn't finish the play. After 71 played minutes Gattabaun got a freekick which was hit by Bard McDecland. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Bard Mullan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pearson McAlphie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game Tipraite Mullan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gattabaun's Bard Mullan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Despite being the better team, Cashleen failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
