The Gates fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevis Gillmour should have stopped the shot. Bradley Willson's late challenge caught a Gates's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradley Willson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gates booed when Effickmore Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herygh Hunt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patton Crowe in the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Gates's goal looked a bit too open when Bradaigh Tierney came free, but Kevis Gillmour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Effickmore Utd's Bradley Willson got a free kick in the 25th minute. Heremon Dimson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herygh Hunt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Bourns Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bradaigh Tierney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevis Gillmour having to interfere. Kevis Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradaigh Tierney in the 42nd minute of play. Enda John kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patton Crowe was the one to do the kick off. Effickmore Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Heremon Dimson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Heremon Dimson in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herygh Hunt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Heremon Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Herygh Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Patton Crowe notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Effickmore Utd's Herygh Hunt. Herygh Hunt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Gates's zone, Bradaigh Tierney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevis Gillmour came out of the goal and Bradaigh Tierney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Gates's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley Willson came free, but Kevis Gillmour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Effickmore Utd's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baiscend McBrandon in the 90th minute. Effickmore Utd's Baiscend McBrandon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kevis Gillmour in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Kevis Gillmour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradaigh Tierney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gates had won after a very even match.
