A very good chance. Babe McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Herygh Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ballybane booed when Effickmore Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bevan Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herygh Hunt having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Ballybane's Herygh Hunt threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bevan Kirby, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 41st minute, Lewis Cassin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Ballybane's Brakawn McGlenn dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. With a little luck, Effickmore Utd's Herygh Hunt got control of the ball when Babe McTom tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bevan Kirby was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bevan Kirby during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Babe McTom struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Herygh Hunt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballybane. After 79 played minutes Effickmore Utd got a freekick which was hit by Enda John. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Bevan Kirby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballybane's supporters rose to their feet, but Bevan Kirby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herygh Hunt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Herygh Hunt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Babe McTom in the 81st minute of the match. Barra McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herygh Hunt having to interfere. Herygh Hunt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bevan Kirby's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Effickmore Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Babe McTom came free, but Herygh Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
