Herygh Hunt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dermod Morrison's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Effickmore Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Dermod Morrison came free, but Herygh Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cloonfinnaun's Dermod Morrison got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herygh Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dermod Morrison, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 29th minute Birr Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herygh Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dermod Morrison came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Cloonfinnaun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dermod Morrison couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute Birr Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herygh Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boudibiua McIan hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match Baiscend McBrandon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bradner Rogers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Enda John charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enda John the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cloonfinnaun booed when Effickmore Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enda John didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Birr Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bradaigh Tierney was the one to do the kick off. Bradley Willson kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Boudibiua McIan, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that Birr Todd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herygh Hunt was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Dermod Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Herygh Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enda John got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Effickmore Utd's Enda John got a free kick in the 71st minute. 75 minutes into the game, Bradaigh Tierney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Effickmore Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cloonfinnaun the free kick. Bradaigh Tierney kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dermod Morrison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dermod Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Birr Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Herygh Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 91st minute, but Herygh Hunt got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Effickmore Utd hanging dry this time. After 94 minutes, Ryley Rogers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cloonfinnaun and the Effickmore Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute, Ryley Rogers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cloonfinnaun players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
