Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Babe Kelly took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gattabaun's zone, Rannal McGlenn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bard Mullan came out of the goal and Rannal McGlenn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gattabaun's Bard Mullan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braydon Frankson in the 4th minute of play. If Rannal McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute Braydon Frankson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bard Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Babe Kelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herygh Willson's late challenge caught a Gattabaun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herygh Willson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kilnabooley's Herygh Willson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When Logan Caffrey fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gattabaun's protests and gave Logan Caffrey a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gattabaun's Logan Caffrey got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Kilnabooley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herygh Willson to maneuver through the defense. Braydon Frankson struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Bard Mullan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilnabooley. Donan McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Gattabaun's Babe Kelly slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Berry Quinnless. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. After 44 played minutes Gattabaun got a freekick which was hit by Dennis McWill. Rannal McGlenn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Braydon Frankson was the one to do the kick off. Berry Quinnless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donan McTom in the 52nd minute of play. Babe Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Berry Quinnless tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rannal McGlenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bard Mullan having to interfere. Bard Mullan went to the wrong direction when Rory McPhil was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. A collision led to Gattabaun getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Bard McDecland hit a great ball. Rannal McGlenn's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bard Mullan firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Kilnabooley booed when Gattabaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brasil McAaron didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 played minutes Kilnabooley got a freekick which was hit by Bearach McLaughlin. In the 80th minute, Babe Kelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donan McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berry Quinnless having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Babe Kelly in the 87th minute of play forced Kilnabooley's goalkeeper Berry Quinnless to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Kilnabooley got a freekick which was hit by Herygh Willson. 88 minutes into the match, Kilnabooley's goal looked a bit too open when Donan McTom came free, but Berry Quinnless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gattabaun! Rory McPhil walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kilnabooley players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gattabaun.
