Spectators: 6761 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Babe Kelly took the kick off in the first half of the match. Kevis Gillmour showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donan McTom, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. When Bard McDecland fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gattabaun's protests and gave Bard McDecland a yellow card for diving instead. Bard McDecland hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Brede McFrank succeeded in the game's 6th minute to get real power on a long shot . Gattabaun's Bard Mullan hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-0! In the 10th minute Patton Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bard Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevis Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donan McTom in the 11th minute of play. Randal Dalton hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Donan McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gattabaun's supporters rose to their feet, but Donan McTom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevis Gillmour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the game, Donan McTom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gattabaun's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gates the free kick. Bard Mullan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patton Crowe in the 21st minute of play. If Babe Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Donan McTom came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Gattabaun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donan McTom couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Babe Kelly had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kevis Gillmour. Gates's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Babe Kelly was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Donan McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patton Crowe succeeded in the game's 46th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Gates booed when Gattabaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artuir Morrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Babe Kelly was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Gattabaun's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bearach Silke during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Donan McTom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Kevis Gillmour made a huge save. Babe Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Kevis Gillmour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Babe Kelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kevis Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babe Kelly in the 81st minute of play. Gates's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Logan Caffrey scored to the left of an out of position Kevis Gillmour, making the score, 2-2. After having played for 90 minutes, Donan McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gattabaun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donan McTom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donan McTom struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Kevis Gillmour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gattabaun.
