Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Birr Todd started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Birr Todd fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kevis Gillmour, passed just outside the right post. Bearach McPhil hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Boudibiua McIan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Cloonfinnaun's goal looked a bit too open when Patton Crowe came free, but Bradner Rogers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Ryley Rogers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gates's Patton Crowe got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dermod Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Kevis Gillmour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Phillip Brennan fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gates's protests and gave Phillip Brennan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, one of Gates:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gates. 2-0 came through a penalty shot after 22 played minutes, when Cloonfinnaun:s Boudibiua McIan calmly waited for Gates:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Boudibiua McIan kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Birr Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Cloonfinnaun's Birr Todd ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kevis Gillmour. Kevis Gillmour yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. 46 minutes into the match, Gates's goalkeeper Kevis Gillmour had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dermod Morrison.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patton Crowe to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Gates defense, Birr Todd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevis Gillmour. The Gates fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevis Gillmour should have stopped the shot. Dermod Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Ryley Rogers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Gates booed when Cloonfinnaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradon Gough didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Heremon Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Cloonfinnaun's goalkeeper Bradner Rogers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Heremon Dimson. After a rather tough play, Gates's Bearach Silke got a free kick in the 79th minute. Dermod Morrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevis Gillmour having to interfere. Dermod Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dermod Morrison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevis Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Birr Todd in the 87th minute of play. Reidy Murphy hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Cloonfinnaun players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
