In the 42nd minute of the match Blamhac Quinnless sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brakawn McSteven skillfully saved the ball. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballinvronig FC's goalkeeper Brakawn McSteven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Baolach McBjarton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Lou McIan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brakawn McSteven came out of the goal and Rolan McLiam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 played minutes Lou McIan rounded Ballinvronig FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Brakawn McSteven made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Rolan McLiam sent off a good shot on target. Baolach McBjarton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78th minute Lou McIan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brakawn McSteven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Brine Todd was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Springfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballinvronig FC the free kick. In the 86th minute of the match Bearach McMichel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Biddy McAlphie showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Springfield's zone, Terrence Mullan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Biddy McAlphie came out of the goal and Terrence Mullan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lewis Ramsey hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Springfield eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
