Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brian Ryan started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Kilnamanagh FC's zone, Brian Ryan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egan McJon came out of the goal and Brian Ryan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brian Ryans short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Egan McJon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tiomoid Walker charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiomoid Walker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Portsalon booed when Kilnamanagh FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiomoid Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute of the match Beartlai Caffey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egan McJon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Don Ferguson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Scully in the 16th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Kilnamanagh FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Scully to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Kilnamanagh FC booed when Portsalon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendan McDecland didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Portsalon's goal looked a bit too open when Braonain Gough came free, but Don Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brendon Scully made a kick off. Brian Ryan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egan McJon having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Brian Ryan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portsalon's supporters rose to their feet, but Brian Ryan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egan McJon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Ryan in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egan McJon saved Kilnamanagh FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Portsalon's zone, Braonain Gough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Don Ferguson came out of the goal and Braonain Gough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Don Ferguson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tiomoid Walker. Brian Ryan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian Ryan might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egan McJon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Ryan ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Morrison during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Kilnamanagh FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Morrison to maneuver through the defense. Brian Ryan might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egan McJon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Ryan ran back to his position shaking his head. Lewis Colwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Don Ferguson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kilnamanagh FC's Tiomoid Walker got a free kick in the 84th minute. Braonain Gough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Don Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Portsalon's Don Ferguson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Portsalon from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute, Lewis Colwell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Kilnamanagh FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Ryan came free, but Egan McJon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
