Cianán McSteve started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, Arthur Tracy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience was convinced that Cianán McSteve's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Braoin Prunty was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cianán McSteve in the 11th minute of play forced Monaghan AFC's goalkeeper Braoin Prunty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Beagan Keegan came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Pallasboy Utd fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cianán McSteve in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Braoin Prunty saved Monaghan AFC from getting behind. Beagan Keegan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Braoin Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Pallasboy Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Art Byrne to maneuver through the defense. Ferdia McWill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Sheridan having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Coinneach Harkin made a precise shot to the right of Braoin Prunty. Monaghan AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 35 minutes, Cianán McSteve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pallasboy Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cianán McSteve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Beagan Keegan came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Pallasboy Utd fans jumped to their feet. Braoin Prunty didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cianán McSteve went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Braoin Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Coinneach Harkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pallasboy Utd were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Monaghan AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Beagan Keegan took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Beagan Keegan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Braoin Prunty quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cianán McSteve in the 46th minute of play forced Monaghan AFC's goalkeeper Braoin Prunty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Ferdia McWill made the kick off in the second half. Coinneach Harkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Braoin Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55thth minute of the game Cianán McSteve who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pallasboy Utd's Oliver Sheridan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rian Morrison in the 57th minute of play. Sheridan Cassin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 58 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the game, one of Pallasboy Utd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Monaghan AFC a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Blaine Quinnless, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pallasboy Utd's Oliver Sheridan. 1-2. Braoin Prunty was a little too slow when Coinneach Harkin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-3. John McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John McAaron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braoin Prunty having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Beagan Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pallasboy Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Beagan Keegan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Braoin Prunty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Monaghan AFC from getting a goal against them. Pallasboy Utd were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Monaghan AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Beagan Keegan took the corner. Braoin Prunty didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 78th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. A collision led to Monaghan AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ferdia McWill hit a great ball. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coinneach Harkin in the 82nd minute of the match. Braoin Prunty was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Beagan Keegan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 85 minute of play. Cianán McSteve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braoin Prunty having to interfere. John McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Monaghan AFC's goalkeeper Braoin Prunty, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Coinneach Harkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braoin Prunty having to interfere. John McAaron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Braoin Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Coinneach Harkin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Braoin Prunty was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6.
