Shane McPhilip didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antaine Byrne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rian Morrison in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Ferdia McWill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antaine Byrne was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ahimma AFC's Antaine Byrne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdia McWill in the 21st minute of play. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gearalt McJohn in the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Ahimma AFC's Gealan McTommy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Braoin Prunty made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Gealan McTommy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Tracy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Tracy in the 43rd minute of play forced Ahimma AFC's goalkeeper Antaine Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 played minutes Ahimma AFC got a freekick which was hit by Shane McPhilip. Gealan McTommy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferdia McWill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Gealan McTommy notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty. Braoin Prunty was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Rian Morrison notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Ahimma AFC's Antaine Byrne. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rian Morrison got free with Antaine Byrne in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the match, Ahimma AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Tracy came free, but Antaine Byrne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahimma AFC's Antaine Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Ahimma AFC from getting a goal against them. Shane McPhilip charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shane McPhilip the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Shane McPhilip kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Gealan McTommy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braoin Prunty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gealan McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braoin Prunty having to interfere. Ahimma AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Monaghan AFC for a fine match.
