An unexpectedly hard shot by Donn McSteve in the 34th minute of play forced Murrough's goalkeeper Brannen Delaney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brannen Delaney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baird Bayes, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Donn McSteve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the game, Donegal McNamara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Murrough's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Achill FC the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Donegal McNamara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 played minutes Donn McSteve rounded Murrough's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Baird Bayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannen Delaney having to interfere. Donleavy Gough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexander Hughes hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Brannen Delaney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donn McSteve, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Bren McJames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donleavy Gough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brannen Delaney acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dermot McBrandon. Donn McSteve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Brannen Delaney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 minutes of play, Murrough's Braddon Delaney made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bren McJames was left in no man's land by his defense there! Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
