Spectators: 6764 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1764, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Donn McSteve got the match started through his kick off. After 3 played minutes Monaghan AFC got a freekick which was hit by Blaine Quinnless. Braoin Prunty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baird Bayes, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Ferdia McWill kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes Achill FC got a freekick which was hit by Brennen Quinnless. After a rather tough play, Achill FC's Iarla Prunty got a free kick in the 14th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 21st minute when Ferdia McWill elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rian Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bren McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rian Morrison kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Donn McSteve had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Braoin Prunty. Monaghan AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donn McSteve was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 32nd minute, Donn McSteve left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Achill FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Baird Bayes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Braoin Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baird Bayes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baird Bayes in the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Donavon Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Braoin Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the game, Achill FC's Baird Bayes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Braoin Prunty made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Braoin Prunty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donn McSteve, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Monaghan AFC's Rian Morrison in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Achill FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baird Bayes got free with Braoin Prunty in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Braoin Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donn McSteve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Achill FC were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Monaghan AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dermot McBrandon took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Donn McSteve managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Braoin Prunty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donlevy Rutherford in the 93rd minute. Braoin Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donn McSteve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Monaghan AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Achill FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Achill FC.
