Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brenainn Lester got the match started through his kick off. When Bangor's Brenainn Lester in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gerard McVictor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdia McWill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monaghan AFC were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Bangor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Blaine Quinnless took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Bin McIan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 17 minutes, Bannan MaCollin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bangor and the Monaghan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bangor getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bannan MaCollin hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Bangor's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdia McWill came free, but Gerard McVictor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braoin Prunty was a little too slow when Brenainn Lester got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. Boyce McWilliam's late challenge caught a Monaghan AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boyce McWilliam helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, one of Bangor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bangor. Gerard McVictor went to the wrong direction when Blaine Quinnless was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenainn Lester in the 34th minute of play. In the 40th minute Brenainn Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braoin Prunty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brenainn Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 44th minute, Arthur Tracy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferdia McWill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Robin Robinson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Braoin Prunty. Monaghan AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robin Robinson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Brenainn Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Braoin Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Robinson in the 67th minute of play forced Monaghan AFC's goalkeeper Braoin Prunty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Robin Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bangor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Robinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Brenainn Lester who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monaghan AFC's Braoin Prunty was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Robin Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bangor's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Robinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Braoin Prunty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Braoin Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brenainn Lester in the 82nd minute of the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Robin Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bangor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Robinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Brenainn Lester's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Braoin Prunty was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Bangor's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
