After a defensive mix-up in Lipstown FC's zone, Shane McPhilip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Russ McNamee came out of the goal and Shane McPhilip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Russ McNamee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baptist McAaron in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Glen O'Down shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antaine Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Tory Walker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antaine Byrne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Ahimma AFC's Baptist McAaron sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Russ McNamee narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ahimma AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baptist McAaron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baptist McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Baran Martyn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antaine Byrne read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. When Baptist McAaron came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Ahimma AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baptist McAaron couldn't finish the play. After the first half Lipstown FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baptist McAaron made a kick off. Shane McPhilip hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Pierson Dempsey charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierson Dempsey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Lipstown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierson Dempsey to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lipstown FC booed when Ahimma AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adamnan McWill didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Lipstown FC's Antaine Byrne threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tory Walker, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Russ McNamee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baptist McAaron, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Russ McNamee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baptist McAaron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lipstown FC's Russ McNamee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gearalt McJohn in the 62nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Baptist McAaron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Russ McNamee was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the match, Ahimma AFC's goalkeeper Antaine Byrne had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierson Dempsey. Ahimma AFC's Antaine Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Ahimma AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd match minute, Lipstown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sameer Cooney to maneuver through the defense. Shane McPhilip was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Baptist McAaron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Lipstown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shane McPhilip came free, but Russ McNamee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baptist McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shane McPhilip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Russ McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Lipstown FC defense, Baptist McAaron kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Russ McNamee. The Lipstown FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Russ McNamee should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baptist McAaron in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russ McNamee saved Lipstown FC from getting behind. Ahimma AFC's Antaine Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Ahimma AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute, Brakawn Caffrey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, Ahimma AFC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
