Spectators: 6768 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bivadas Frankson kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Buach McPaul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daithi Myler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Buach McPaul recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bivadas Frankson charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bivadas Frankson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Daithi Myler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Buach McPaul's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Healey Tracy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daithi Myler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rannal Tierney in the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Caltragh's Gearalt Benson got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Brenda McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bivadas Frankson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daithi Myler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buach McPaul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Caltragh's zone, Buach McPaul stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daithi Myler came out of the goal and Buach McPaul tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brenda McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Babe Todd's late challenge caught a Ballydrenid Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Babe Todd helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 played minutes Caltragh got a freekick which was hit by Babe Todd. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Bivadas Frankson hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Buach McPaul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daithi Myler having to interfere. Blathmac McCollion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bivadas Frankson in the 57th minute of the match. If Brenda McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daithi Myler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buach McPaul in the 61st minute of play. Caltragh's Daithi Myler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rannal Tierney in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Buach McPaul in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daithi Myler saved Caltragh from getting behind. Daithi Myler was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Healey Tracy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Healey Tracy really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Rannal Tierney hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. With his leg Daithi Myler managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Ballydrenid Utd's Healey Tracy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Buach McPaul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Daithi Myler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Buach McPaul reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Daithi Myler. The goal made the score 0-2. A collision led to Caltragh getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Russ McTom hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the match, Ballydrenid Utd's Ailill McGlynn broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The Caltragh supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ballydrenid Utd's performance. The match ended with a win for Ballydrenid Utd.
