Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reginald McMichel started the match with the kick off. Duff Doherty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blathmacc Cronin, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Beara McSteven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duff Doherty having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Blathmacc Cronin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duff Doherty was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Claggan Utd's Reginald McMichel got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reginald McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Geoffrey O'Down managed to get in a good position for a shot. Claggan Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoffrey O'Down was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perry Willson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 21 minutes, Beara McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derrymullen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beara McSteven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Perry Willson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginald McMichel in the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Derrymullen's Blathmacc Cronin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duff Doherty narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30thth minute of the game Blathmacc Cronin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claggan Utd's Duff Doherty was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reginald McMichel hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Beara McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duff Doherty was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Blathmacc Cronin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Blathmacc Cronin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Beara McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blathmacc Cronin in the 47th minute of play forced Claggan Utd's goalkeeper Duff Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Blathmacc Cronin was the one to do the kick off. When Derrymullen's Blathmacc Cronin in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Claggan Utd's Duff Doherty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blathmacc Cronin in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Darick McIan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Claggan Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darick McIan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beara McSteven in the 65th minute of play forced Claggan Utd's goalkeeper Duff Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Blathmacc Cronin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duff Doherty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Claggan Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darick McIan to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Darick McIan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Beara McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duff Doherty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blathmacc Cronin in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Claggan Utd's Duff Hutton got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 84th minute of the match Derrymullen got a corner. Claggan Utd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brite McTom ran over to the corner to take the kick. 86 minutes into the match, Claggan Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Blathmacc Cronin came free, but Duff Doherty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 87 played minutes Claggan Utd got a freekick which was hit by Blathmac Gough. Beara McSteven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Derrymullen had won after a very even match.
