Clooncogaile's supporters rose to their feet, but Donavon McJames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Glen Crowe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur McAlphie got free with Shane Glen Crowe in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Derryvane Utd's goalkeeper Shane Glen Crowe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Clooncogaile got a freekick which was hit by Ros McLaughlin. The audience was convinced that Shea Perth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gearard McJohnny was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After 20 minutes, Ros McLaughlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clooncogaile and the Derryvane Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clooncogaile's Gearard McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beanon Tracy in the 36th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Donncha Colwell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derryvane Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donavon McJames to strike the kick off in the second half. Donavon McJames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur McAlphie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Shane Glen Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Arthur McAlphie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Shane Glen Crowe having to make a save. Donncha Colwells short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Gearard McJohnny to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Arthur McAlphie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clooncogaile's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur McAlphie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Glen Crowe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnold McFrank tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Shane Glen Crowe. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-2 in the 88th minute. Donavon McJames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Clooncogaile's zone, Donncha Colwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gearard McJohnny came out of the goal and Donncha Colwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clooncogaile's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
